Love to save money? Try the Ibotta app!

Personally, I suck at trying to save money at the grocery store.  I’ve tried to cut coupons and do research on stores for sales but it never really works for me.  I lose the coupons or forget about them completely.

But now with the Ibotta app on my Iphone, I actually saved money at the grocery store!

Ibotta, available also on Android, is a great app that gives you money back on items that you really use like, toilet paper, foods, diapers and more.  The more you shop with it the more personalized it gets since the app gives you the option to “Thumbs up” or “Thumbs down” and offer.  By doing this the app “learns” what you need and don’t need and customizes your offers.

Each item offered gives you the option to gain from .75 cents to up to $2.00 on an item.  To gain your discounts, you take a poll, share on Facebook or learn some trivia.  With each option you choose it credits you an amount.  For example. if you use Colgate Optic White toothpaste you get .25 for learning trivia, .25 for taking a poll, and .50 for sharing on Facebook for a total of $1.00 back on your purchase.

Once your done shopping, scan the receipt, choose the store you shopped at and the app will find the items you purchased that match up and credit it to your Ibotta account.  Once you’ve reached $20 you can cash out and have the money sent to you.

Personally, I love the fact that I don’t have to carry coupons.  I ran to Walmart to pick up some cereal for the family and ended up making $2.00 back.  It may not seem like a lot but for my first time I thought it was pretty neat.

So, download the app and start making money back!
